Ukraine Warns of Possible Attack with 200 Missiles Following Heavy Drone Offensive in Russia

The exchange of attacks between Ukraine and Russia intensified on Monday. Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory killed at least 13 people, including a child.

The main target was the central region of Tatarstan, about 1,200 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The strike is considered one of Kyiv’s deadliest attacks since the Kremlin launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine more than four years ago, and demonstrates Ukraine’s efforts to strike targets deep inside Russian territory.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian drones also struck Russia’s Belgorod region, near the border with Ukraine. According to Russian officials, at least four people were killed and several others wounded. Amid the rising number of civilian casualties, Pope Leo called for an end to the war in Ukraine, stressing that innocent people are being killed and wounded.

At the same time, authorities in Ukraine’s Sumy region said that 14 people, including a child, were wounded in a Russian bomb attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said North Korea is expected to send 50,000 troops, missiles and heavy artillery to Russia. He urged South Korea to help Ukraine with air defense capabilities.

Ukraine also announced that the Russian military is preparing to launch 200 ballistic missiles simultaneously at Ukrainian territory.

According to The Guardian, Turkey is meanwhile preparing a weapons package for Ukraine. The package includes 70 short-range ballistic missiles, about 50,000 rounds of ammunition, 12 missile systems and more than 2,000 bombs.
