Trump and Netanyahu expected to meet next week, with Iran and Saudi Arabia at the top of the agenda

Next Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to travel to Washington to meet US President Donald Trump.

CNN reports that the main topics of the meeting will include Iran’s nuclear program, a new security agreement between the US and Israel, as well as efforts to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.

A new framework for cooperation between the two allies is also expected to be discussed, as the existing agreement on US military aid to Israel, which provides for $3.8 billion per year, expires in 2028.

The issue of normalizing relations with Saudi Arabia will also be part of the agenda, which the Trump administration has treated as a priority. However, Riyadh has once again stressed that it will not move toward an agreement with Israel without a credible path toward the creation of a Palestinian state.

On Friday, Netanyahu and Trump held a phone call, during which they agreed to hold a meeting in the near future. Since the end of the conflict between Israel and Iran, the two leaders have not met face to face.
