After a few hours, he released the 24-year-old woman, while he himself remains on the run. Refit Buzi’s name was also mentioned in the media in 2022, when he was taken hostage in England.
It was the police who managed to rescue him, after he had been kidnapped by Albanian nationals identified as people with criminal records in England.
British police arrested 7 Albanians at that time.
Refit Buzi was held hostage for a week under the threat of being killed if 400,000 pounds were not paid by his relatives.
The reason for the kidnapping is suspected to be a clash between two rival groups over control of cannabis houses. He was treated inhumanely, and videos were sent to his family.
On the day the payment deadline expired, police intervened and freed the hostage, arresting 7 people involved in this criminal offense.
