During a phone interview with Fox News on Sunday, the U.S. president listed three possibilities for Iran’s future: reaching an agreement with the United States, a further worsening of the country’s economic situation, or the “destruction” of Iran.
“My question is: when and if will I destroy the entire country?” Trump declared, later adding: “They’d better behave.”
The conflict between the United States and Iran has now entered its seventh month. During this period, Trump has repeatedly hinted that he is weighing two main options: expanding military action or negotiating a new agreement with Tehran.
Earlier in the week, in remarks to Axios, Trump said he faced “an important decision” over the possibility of the “destruction” of the Iranian regime.
