The Ethics Secretariat has suspended Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha from Parliament’s proceedings for 10 days, a day after tensions and chaos in Parliament.
The Secretariat has also suspended Bledion Nallbati, Ivi Kaso, Blendi Himçi, Xhelal Mziu and Albana Vokshi for 60 days each.

Meanwhile, the Secretariat spared MP Klodiana Çapja, declining to suspend her for 60 days as the Socialist Party had requested.
The Socialist Party’s request was prompted by the tense situation during the plenary session. Opposition MPs blocked the podium, lit flares and blew whistles, disrupting the normal proceedings of the agenda.
As a result, the session was adjourned twice in a row because Parliament’s work could not continue.
