Meanwhile, the Socialist Party requested 10-day suspensions for Gjin Gjoni, Bardh Spahia, Albana Vokshi, Elda Hoti, Xhelal Mziu, Gent Strazimiri, Enno Bozdo, Kastriot Piroli, Kliti Hoti, Flamur Hoxha, Arjan Ndoja, Ivi Kaso, Zija Ismaili and Blendi Himçi.
What happened yesterday?
The Democratic Party group blocked the rostrum at the very start of the session and engaged in a heated argument with Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi. Following the initial tensions, Peleshi decided to move the session directly to a vote on the bills.
The Democrats then began taking the Socialists’ voting cards, preventing them from voting, which required the intervention of the Guard. A confrontation then took place between Democratic Party lawmaker Fadil Kreka and Socialist Party lawmaker Ervin Hoxha, which almost escalated into a fistfight between them. At one point, two lawmakers also insulted each other from a distance.
