Students march tomorrow in Pristina against the decision of the Special Court

Students have announced that on Monday they will organize a protest in Pristina, while they have invited citizens to join them in opposing the decision of the Special Court against former KLA leaders.

The march will start at 11:30 from the Student Center and will continue towards “Skënderbeu” square. Student speeches are planned to begin at 12:00.

Flon Kastrati from the Student Parliament declared that the protest aims to convey a message of unity, dignity and solidarity in an important period for the country.

Kastrati announced that students of the University of Pristina, together with representatives from other public and private universities, have drafted a six-point memorandum. The document will be read by students and published after the march ends.

Donart Humolli, a colleague of Kastrati, said that students consider the reaction to the verdict a moral obligation and civic responsibility.

According to him, the Student Parliament of the University of Pristina cannot remain silent in the face of a decision that it considers deeply unjust towards the liberators. Humolli emphasized that those who contributed to the country’s freedom and enabled students to be educated freely are currently in The Hague.

He requested from institutions financial support until the end of the judicial process and until the return of the liberators to their country.

Humolli also requested unconditional financial support, as well as full political and moral backing for the accused, until the end of the process and their return to their families.

Describing the situation as difficult and heavy, he said that students see a call for national unity as necessary.

Organizers expect students from other cities, public and private universities, as well as students from North Macedonia to join the protest.

Students expressed their support for this issue and urged political entities to show more unity in these moments.
