The march toward the government building marks the continuation of the student protest, which for 20 days has been accompanied by gatherings and calls for Prime Minister Edi Rama to step down.
During these days, the protesters’ demands have expanded beyond issues related to education, also including the government’s resignation and the holding of early elections.
Students have repeatedly rejected the prime minister’s invitations for dialogue, insisting that they will not sit down at the negotiating table without their political demands being met.
Citizens, lecturers and representatives of various social groups have also joined the protest.
