Sarandë, court sets measures for five arrested with guns in Gjashtë

The five people arrested on Monday evening in the village of Gjashtë, Sarandë, appeared before the court, which imposed security measures on them. They were detained after being found with firearms and suspected of preparing to carry out a murder.

Judge Mexhit Doci ordered “detention in prison” for Alfred Kaja, 26, and Sidorel Moriseni, 33. Both are charged with “illegal possession of firearms.” Meanwhile, Vitrin Hoxha, 21, Franko Bobja, 22, and Vionis Poka, 31, will remain under “house arrest,” as they are suspected of “failure to report a crime.”

According to police, the five arrested individuals had criminal records related to narcotics, and there were strong suspicions that they had organized to execute a person in Gjashtë, Sarandë.

At the time of their detention, Kaja and Moriseni were found with two pistols, one of which was fitted with a silencer. The other three young men were with them.

However, the statements they gave during the investigation and later at the court hearing did not reinforce the suspicion that the group was preparing a murder.

Sources close to the investigation say that the five young men, who do not appear to have significant criminal records, may have been involved in an affair related to the sale and purchase of firearms. They are residents of different areas of Tirana and Rrogozhinë, including Shkoza, Rreth Grethi and Kazia.
