Rovena Zoto Enters the Race for Prosecutor General! Who Is the 43-Year-Old Who Cracked Down on Fraudulent Call Centers in Tirana?

Prosecutor Rovena Zoto (Bozo) has submitted her candidacy to the High Prosecutorial Council to enter the race for Prosecutor General.

The 43-year-old Zoto has served in various areas of criminal prosecution at two of the country’s most important and busiest prosecution offices, taking part in investigations into complex cases and leading prosecution structures.

Rovena Zoto began her career at the Lushnja Prosecutor’s Office, focusing particularly on investigations into economic and financial crime, money laundering, assets, and offenses related to terrorist financing.

Since 2021, she has served as a prosecutor in Tirana, investigating criminal offenses related to narcotics, trafficking, and serious crimes against life.

Since March of this year, Rovena Zoto has also headed the Juvenile Criminal Justice Section at the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office.

Most recently, the 43-year-old prosecutor led an investigation that, in cooperation with Austrian partners, uncovered and dismantled a network of fraudulent call centers in Tirana believed to have swindled European citizens out of up to 50 million euros.
