RDK Stages Symbolic Protest: Hazard Tape Placed Outside Government Building as Warning Over Constitutional Violations

The Democratic Youth of Kosovo staged a symbolic protest on Saturday by placing yellow warning tape outside the Government building.

Altin Gjata, RDK’s organizational secretary, explained that the aim was to sound the alarm over what they described as the government’s departure from the constitutional framework, legal rules, and institutional obligations.

He stressed that authority becomes dangerous the moment it places itself above the rules that apply equally to all citizens.

According to Gjata, the events of August 6, when Albin Kurti and several cabinet ministers were sworn in as lawmakers while continuing to hold executive office, constitute a flagrant violation, while the Assembly remains blocked by the Vetëvendosje Movement itself.

“When institutions are placed at the service of a political group with usurping aims and in violation of the law and the Constitution, democracy is endangered and the state slides toward chaos,” Gjata said, adding that the hazard tape had been placed in an area where a crime against the Republic is being committed every day.

He characterized this action as one of the gravest violations against the state, undermining the Constitution and endangering the fundamental order of the Republic of Kosovo.

RDK’s concluding message was that no single individual, no group, and no political entity can stand above the Republic. According to the organization, a government that holds the country hostage and violates constitutional limits poses a threat to every citizen and to the state itself.
