Skenderaj Mayor Fadil Nura said Kosovo’s institutions must be protected and strengthened, as they were built on the sacrifice and blood of the country’s finest sons. He said local authorities, as part of the constitutional system, have a duty to act beyond political differences and contribute to protecting the institutions.

Nura called on representatives of the majority, particularly Vetëvendosje, to reflect on the current situation and assume the responsibility entrusted to them by citizens. According to him, state institutions must be established as soon as possible, while he assured that Skenderaj would stand by the lawmakers defending the sovereignty, Constitution and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo.

Fadil Nura: Kosovo’s institutions must be protected and built

“Today we are here to demonstrate our strong support for the lawmakers present, who are defending the constitutional order and democracy, which continues to be undermined. As local authorities and an integral part of the constitutional system, we consider it our obligation, regardless of political convictions, to protect and build Kosovo’s institutions. On behalf of the Municipality of Skenderaj, I call on the majority to reflect, fulfill the responsibility entrusted to it by the citizens, establish the state institutions and move forward. We will once again stand alongside the lawmakers of the Republic of Kosovo who defend its sovereignty, Constitution and constitutional order,” Nura said.

Ali Nimanaj, a representative of the PDK branch in Istog, spoke about the difficulties facing municipalities. He said the situation requires the constitution of the Assembly and the functioning of the institutions.

Nimanaj: Municipalities are on the verge of collapse; institutions must be constituted

“I come from Istog, and our concern is that the municipalities are on the verge of collapse. Decisions concerning municipal budgets have harmed the planned capital projects, which can no longer be implemented. Therefore, one of the main reasons for constituting the government is for it to resume work and help the municipalities and citizens,” Nimanaj said.

PDK lawmaker Mërgim Lushtaku thanked representatives from Skenderaj and Istog for participating, stressing that the protest no longer represents only the lawmakers of the Assembly of Kosovo.

Lushtaku: This cause now belongs to all citizens

“I especially thank our colleagues and representatives from Skenderaj and Istog who came to support us. This cause no longer belongs only to representatives of the Assembly, but to all the country’s citizens. When the state and Constitution are affected, the citizens’ primary interest is also affected, because that is where responsibility for resolving the country’s problems is determined. In the face of any violation of the Constitution and the state of Kosovo, they will have us as well, since we have a responsibility to protect them. The PDK has been a state-building force, and today, more than ever, it is our duty to defend the state,” Lushtaku said.

Alliance lawmaker Albana Bytyqi called on Albin Kurti to appear in the Assembly, accusing him of not having the right to make a mockery of citizens’ trust.

Albana Bytyqi: Come to the Assembly, establish the institutions and let us continue working

“Kosovo has been facing a lack of institutions for two years, and during this time it has gone through numerous concerns and challenges that require solutions. We must go to parliament and address these issues where citizens have placed their trust in us. I once again call on Albin Kurti not to make a mockery of the votes of the citizens, who gave him 53 lawmakers, but to come to the Assembly, establish the institutions and let us continue working to address the country’s problems and challenges. Come to the Assembly, establish the institutions and let us continue working,” Bytyqi said.
