Police have launched criminal proceedings against a 45-year-old man suspected of threatening and insulting several journalists during a protest outside Maliq Municipality.

Specialists from the Maliq Police Station’s Crimes Investigation Unit have forwarded procedural materials to the Prosecutor’s Office against citizen A. A., 45, a resident of Libonik. He is accused of the criminal offenses of “Threatening Because of One’s Duty” and “Insulting.”
According to police, the protest was organized by the 45-year-old to oppose the dissolution of Maliq Municipality. During the gathering, he allegedly threatened and insulted four journalists, identified by the initials Xh. Sh., A. B., I. R. and S. Xh., who were at the scene reporting for the media outlets where they work.
The case materials have been sent to the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office, which will continue with further procedural actions.
