Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje seeks to launch preparatory proceedings against four minors

The Juvenile Department of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje has submitted to the competent juvenile judge a request to initiate preparatory proceedings against two 14-year-old girls, for whom there is reasonable suspicion that they committed the act legally classified as the criminal offense of “Violence,” the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced.

According to the BPPO, preparatory proceedings have also been requested against a 15-year-old girl for aiding in the commission of this offense, as well as for “Unauthorized Recording” under Article 152, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. Such a request has also been filed against another 14-year-old minor for unauthorized recording.

The statement says that on June 30, the reported girls, acting as a group, carried out severe violence at a playground behind a shopping center in Skopje, endangering the safety of a 12-year-old girl. Another 13-year-old child also took part in the actions, but due to age cannot be held criminally liable.

According to the description of the case, they forced the girl to kneel and apologize, then hit her with slaps and pulled her by the hair. As a result of the blows, the victim suffered bodily injuries, while her friend, who witnessed the event and was present among the public, felt unsafe, threatened and frightened.

Also, one of the boys contributed to the acts of violence through advice, instructions and incitement on how the act should be carried out. Meanwhile, two boys made an unauthorized video recording of the violence, without the victim’s consent and in violation of her privacy. They later sent the recording to the perpetrators.

The public prosecutor has proposed to the court that, during the proceedings, a precautionary measure also be imposed prohibiting the children in conflict with the law from approaching the victim or establishing and maintaining contact and relations with her, the BPPO statement said./Telegrafi/
