Political Crisis, Kosovo Democratic Youth to Hold Symbolic Action Today in Front of Government

The Democratic Youth of Kosovo, the youth organization of the PDK, will organize a symbolic activity today in front of the entrances to the Kosovo government building. According to KosovaPress, the action is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

The notice provides no details about the activity’s theme or the message it aims to convey.

“Today, the Democratic Youth of Kosovo will hold a symbolic action in front of the entrance to the Kosovo government. We invite media representatives to cover this activity. Location: In front of the entrance to the Kosovo government. Time: 5 p.m.,” the notice says.

The activity is taking place as Kosovo’s Assembly remains unconstituted. In the two attempts made so far, the Assembly speaker has not been elected and, consequently, the process of constituting the 11th Legislature has not been completed. Elections for it were held on June 7.

The constitutive session remains a source of confrontation among parliamentary entities, while the inability to establish the institutions is deepening and prolonging the political deadlock in the country. Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called for more time to reach a political agreement that would pave the way for the constitution of the Assembly and the creation of new institutions. Despite this, the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance have continued their political actions, insisting that the constitutive session be held.
