As the national student protest in Tirana is expected to begin shortly, the State Police has taken security measures to ensure the gathering proceeds smoothly.
A water cannon has been positioned near the Parliament building as part of the measures taken by the police. The students, who have been protesting for three weeks against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government, are calling for the head of government to resign.

For today’s protest, they are expected to gather near the Ministry of Education and have announced that they will continue their resistance.
In support of the student protest, the opposition is also expected to hold a rally in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, making today another occasion for political confrontation and protest against the government.
It remains to be seen how the gathering will unfold and whether protesters will march toward other institutions.
