Pensions in North Macedonia Expected to Rise Again in September

In September, pensioners in North Macedonia are expected to receive a new increase in their pensions. Unlike previous increases, this time the adjustment is to be made as a percentage, and the amount will depend on the level of monthly income.

In the previous period, pensions were increased linearly, with everyone receiving the same amount. Under the new formula, the increase in denars will not be equal for every beneficiary, as higher pensions will receive a larger increase.

The exact amount of the increase has not yet been officially determined. The final calculation can be made once the relevant economic indicators become available.

According to data from the Pension Fund, from September 2024 to March 2026, linear pension increases reached a total of around 7,000 denars. The announced adjustment follows this considerable increase.

The new increase is expected at a time when the costs of food, bills, medicine and other daily necessities remain high, especially for families for whom a pension is the main source of income.

The amount each pensioner will receive will become clear after the final adjustment percentage has been determined and published. The September pension, which is expected to include the increase, will be paid in October.
