OBRM-PDUKM: Wages and pensions have risen faster under the current government than during the leadership of SDSM and DUI

OBRM-PDUKM says that wages and pensions have risen significantly faster during the current government’s term than during the period when the country was governed by SDSM and DUI.

At a press conference, MP Dragana Bojkovska presented a comparison of the average wage and average old-age pension during the two periods. According to her, the results of the government’s economic policies are clearly reflected in these figures.

The data presented by Bojkovska show that the average wage, which stood at around 22,800 denars in June 2017, reached 41,250 denars in May 2024.

OBRM-PDUKM estimates that this represents an increase of more than 18,400 denars over seven years, or an average rise of around 220 denars per month.

According to Bojkovska, the average wage was around 40,900 denars in July 2024, while by May 2026 it had risen to more than 49,500 denars. Over 23 months, this translates into an increase of around 8,600 denars, or an average of more than 370 denars per month.

The party says that the monthly rate of increase in the average wage was around 70 percent higher compared with the 2017–2024 period.

A similar comparison was also made for old-age pensions. In June 2017, the average old-age pension was below 15,300 denars, while in May 2024 it exceeded 22,900 denars, according to figures published by the party.

In July 2024, the average old-age pension was around 22,850 denars, while in May 2026 it reached more than 29,700 denars. VMRO-DPMNE calculates this as an increase of more than 6,800 denars over 23 months.

The party claims that the monthly increase in the old-age pension during the current government’s term is around 325 percent greater than during the period when SDSM and DUI were in power.

“This is the difference between policies that produce results and those that remain merely at the level of words,” Bojkovska said.
