NAME/ Tragic accident on the Elbasan-Cërrik road claims the life of a 31-year-old

A 31-year-old man lost his life in a serious accident reported after midnight in Gjergjan, on the Elbasan-Cërrik road, after the motorcycle he was riding collided with the roadside barriers.

The victim was preliminarily identified as Mikail Kastlli, 31, a resident of Gostima. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, he is suspected of having lost control of the motorcycle, veered off the road and struck the safety barriers.

The 31-year-old suffered serious bodily injuries in the violent collision. Although emergency teams intervened, he did not survive his injuries and died at the scene.

Preliminary data raise suspicions that speed may have contributed to the loss of control of the motorcycle, while the exact cause will be determined after the investigation is completed.

According to preliminary information about the incident, on 04.09.2026, at around 23:30, on the “Cërrik-Elbasan” road, citizen M. K., 31, is suspected of having lost control of the motorcycle, which collided with the roadside barrier. As a result, he died at the accident scene.

Police services and emergency teams arrived in the area. The investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is carrying out procedures to reconstruct the sequence of events, determine the cause and legally document the case.

The procedural materials are expected to be referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action, while investigations continue to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
