Serious accident on the Elbasan–Librazhd road, car veers off the road and driver seriously injured

A serious road incident occurred this Thursday at around 5:50 p.m. in the village of Mengël, along the Elbasan–Librazhd national road. The area where the accident took place belongs to the Labinot-Fushë Administrative Unit, within the Municipality of Elbasan.

According to information obtained at the scene, the car is suspected to have been travelling at speed when the driver lost control. The vehicle left its lane and crashed heavily into the roadside safety barriers.

The powerful impact almost completely damaged the vehicle, particularly its front and sides.

Behind the wheel was Klement Balla, a resident of the village of Griqan. He sustained serious injuries and was urgently taken to hospital, where he is being treated by medical staff. Preliminary information indicates that his condition remains serious.

After being notified of the accident, Traffic Police services and the investigative team immediately went to the scene. They carried out the initial procedures and began checks to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

At the preliminary stage, suspicions are linked to the loss of control of the vehicle, facilitated by high speed. The exact causes are expected to be determined through a technical examination and police investigations.
