Vetëvendosje Movement official Hyni Mehani has strongly criticized the PDK, accusing it of exploiting the KLA and the September 16 ruling in The Hague to gain political points.

According to Mehani, the attempt to divide society into “supporters of the KLA” and “opponents of the KLA” is not only wrong, but also disgraceful. He has raised the question of which side those who voted to establish the Specialist Court should be placed on.
He has also requested clarification as to why legal changes that, according to claims, could have affected the court’s decisions in The Hague were not proposed earlier, but only after the verdicts were handed down.
Mehani has stated that the KLA is an inseparable part of Kosovo’s identity as a state and society, while, according to him, the Legendary Commander ADEM JASHARI will remain at its head forever.
He has said that there are people who do not love the KLA, but also others who have benefited and seek to continue benefiting in its name. According to him, both sides are equally unacceptable.
In his response, Mehani also referred to recent positions regarding the Specialist Court’s decisions, arguing that current efforts cannot alter responsibility for the establishment of this court.
He warned that even if today’s actions are intended to lessen responsibility for past mistakes, history will remember those who, according to him, created the Specialist Court for the KLA.
Mehani concluded his response by saying that this fact cannot be changed and that those responsible will live with this responsibility forever.

“The PDK’s attempt to secure political gains by invoking the KLA and the September 16 ruling in The Hague is disgraceful.
The attempt to divide the people of Kosovo between those who stand with the KLA and those who stand against it is not only disgraceful, but also vile.
If such a division is made, where should those who voted to establish the Specialist Court place themselves?
The KLA is the DNA of our existence as a state and society, while the Legendary Commander ADEM JASHARI will remain at its head forever.
There are people who do not love the KLA, but there are also those who have benefited and want to continue benefiting in its name. Both sides are the same thing: disgraceful and vile.
If the court’s decisions in The Hague could have been halted through legal changes within two or three days, why did you not propose these changes earlier and instead wait until the court handed down verdicts?
If the violence you are displaying today is intended to reconcile you with your sin, it can free you only for a moment. History, however, will remember you as the people who created the Specialist Court for the KLA.
You cannot change this truth, and you will live with this sin forever.
You cannot cleanse yourselves of it.”
