Mehani sues Hysni Gucati, head of the OVL-KLA, for defamation

Deputy Minister of Finance Hysni Mehani has announced that he has taken legal action against Hysni Gucati, the chairman of the Organization of War Veterans of the KLA, whom he accuses of defamation.

In a statement published on Facebook, Mehani said that defamation is only one of the issues over which Gucati has faced accusations. According to him, other allegations have also been made against the head of the OVL-KLA, and these should be examined by the justice authorities.

Mehani also questioned the way Gucati performs his duties. He said that the position should serve to represent the values of the war and unite citizens around them.

In his response, the deputy minister described Gucati as divisive and subservient to the PDK. He said that through the lawsuit, he aims to have a court give Gucati the title that, according to Mehani, he deserves: “defamer and liar,” along with the accusations of being a “missing secretary” and an “empty cashbox.”

Mehani also mentioned accusations related to Gucati’s salary as secretary and the allegation that he put his hands into the OVL-KLA’s “cashbox,” stressing that the justice institutions should rule on these matters.
