A large fire engulfed a forest area between the villages of Andon Poçi and Hundëkuq in Gjirokastër on Sunday evening.
The alarm was raised at 21:09, and two fire trucks with Fire Protection and Rescue teams immediately headed to the area.

According to data from the scene, the fire has two active hotspots spread across two different hills, while the difficult terrain makes it impossible for vehicles to approach the flames.
Due to the large area affected, the fire has been assessed as massive and the entire Fire and Rescue Service force has been deployed to bring the situation under control.
Firefighting forces are working intensively to isolate and extinguish the flames, aiming to prevent the fire from spreading toward the villages of Andon Poçi and Hundëkuq. The causes of the fire are still unknown.
