Large fire in Gjirokastër / Flames that started from a vehicle spread rapidly! Two villages at risk

A large fire has engulfed the area near the village of Tërbuq in Gjirokastër, threatening to spread toward the populated areas of Labovë e Madhe and Labovë e Vogël.

The fire is believed to have started in a vehicle on the road to the village of Tërbuq and then spread rapidly across a considerable area covered with dry grass and shrubs.

Wind and dry vegetation have fueled the spread of the flames, making it difficult for firefighters to intervene and increasing the risk that the fire will advance toward the villages.

To deal with the situation, the entire staff of the Gjirokastër Directorate of Fire Protection and Rescue has been deployed to the scene.

Firefighters are working to contain the fire and prevent the flames from spreading toward Labovë e Madhe and Labovë e Vogël.

The situation remains ongoing, while efforts to bring the fire under control continue.
