LSDM: Mickoski is now believing the falsehoods he himself has told

LSDM believes that Hristijan Mickoski has started to believe his own lies. According to the party, he said yesterday that the opposition is blocking the Electoral Code because, as he put it, it is “afraid of the Government’s successes.”

“We will respond with facts, not propaganda. First, in the June 2026 report, the European Parliament does not place Macedonia among the best-performing countries in the region. On the contrary, it expresses regret over the lack of progress since the previous report, especially on the rule of law, judicial reforms, and the fight against corruption. While Montenegro is aiming for membership in 2028 and Albania is moving toward concluding negotiations in 2027, Macedonia is at a standstill.”

“Second, the Government’s so-called ‘successes’ can be seen every day: the economy is in collapse and investments have fallen by 60%; the budget is out of money and in just two years the state has sunk into debt by 2.5 billion euros, while soon there will no longer be regular pension payments; citizens wait for hours at the border because of the policy of isolation; young people are leaving en masse because there is no European perspective.”

“Third, Mickoski claims that the Government has accepted all of the opposition’s proposals. That is not true. We do not know whom he is referring to, because LSDM and the people around the Front of Truth and Justice are the only real opposition in Macedonia. Everything else is theater. Mickoski has turned Macedonia into an appendage in the Balkans.”

“Fourth, the opposition is not blocking the Electoral Code out of fear of ‘successes,’ because such successes do not exist. According to them, the only success of this Government can be seen only on a personal level — in criminal tenders,” LSDM said.
