Kurti: The Political Agreement with the LDK Remains in Force

The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, told KosovaPress that the political agreement reached between the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo for the election of the president remains valid, even after the latest developments within the LDK.

Kurti announced that further meetings would be held with LDK representatives to discuss how the situation that had emerged would be addressed, a situation he had spoken about the previous evening. It arose after six LDK lawmakers opposed Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy for president.

“We will discuss these other issues in Pristina. We are here for energy efficiency, but of course, as I said last night, we will continue with meetings and gatherings. For us, the political agreement is valid,” Kurti said.

He left open the possibility of meeting with LDK Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku at a later point, while clarifying that such a meeting had not taken place that morning.

“Not in the morning, because I set off for Viti,” he said.

His comments came after the ceremony marking the launch of the implementation of energy-efficiency measures at the “28 Nëntori” school in Viti.
