Kurti on Egyptian Community Memorial Day: Kosovo is founded on the freedom, equality and dignity of every person

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that Egyptian Community Memorial Day has been marked.

In a post published on his Facebook profile, Kurti praised the role of the Egyptian community in all stages of Kosovo’s state-building, emphasizing that from the earliest efforts for freedom, to the declaration of independence and the functioning of democratic institutions, this community has been an inseparable part of the country’s history.

He stated that Kosovo was built on the principles of freedom, equality and respect for the dignity of every person. According to him, at the foundation of the democratic Republic are human rights, which unite equality with universality, while these values are not only part of the Constitution, but constitute the foundations on which the future is built. Kurti added that the commitment to guaranteeing equal rights, equal opportunities and dignified representation for all communities remains unwavering.

At every step of our state-building journey, from the early efforts for freedom and the declaration of independence to the functioning of democratic institutions, the Egyptian community has been an inseparable part of our history. For this, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, I express to you my deepest gratitude.

Days like this are more emotional than festive days and are more special than ordinary days. They are a reminder of the journey and a reaffirmation of the importance of the role of the Egyptian community, a community that has moved through the times, through storms, and has never allowed itself to lose direction.

Kosovo has been built on the principles of freedom, equality and respect for the dignity of every person. At the foundation of our democratic Republic are human rights, which bring together equality and universality. These principles are not only part of the Constitution, they are the foundation on which we are building our future. Therefore, our dedication to guaranteeing equal rights, equal opportunities and dignified representation for all communities undoubtedly remains unwavering.

To give this day its full meaning, we must coexist, co-govern and cooperate on every day of the year, proving that Kosovo is the shared home of all its citizens and that each of us has an equal place in the future that we are building together.
