Kurti: The Egyptian community has an inseparable role in Kosovo’s history and state-building

On the occasion of the Memorial Day of the Egyptian Community, the acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted a reception at the Government’s Open Balcony.

In his address, Kurti said that memorial days carry more emotion than festive ones because, according to him, they refocus attention on the journey and contribution of the Egyptian community to Kosovar society and to the country’s state-building.

He stressed that the Egyptian community has been an inseparable part of Kosovo’s history at every stage of its development.

According to Kurti, this community has contributed in various fields, including social, political, economic and cultural life, as he underlined the importance of equality, representation and respect for the rights of all communities.

During his speech, the acting prime minister also mentioned figures and representatives of the Egyptian community who have left their mark on Kosovo’s history and institutions, while also praising their presence in the Assembly and in public life.

Kurti also presented several government measures which, according to him, have aimed to improve living conditions for non-majority communities, including investments in infrastructure, housing support, scholarships for students and increased employment in public institutions.

In the end, he called for coexistence and continued cooperation, emphasizing that Kosovo is the shared home of all its citizens.
