More than 1,000 smuggled items were discovered during the search of a vehicle in the area of Likovë village, and its driver, S.S. (36) from the village of Goshincë, was detained by police.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident took place on 17.09.2026, at around 19:50. Police officers from the Bellanocë Police Station for Border and Irregular Migration, within the Northern Regional Border Affairs Center, detained the 36-year-old on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “smuggling,” provided for in Article 278 of the Criminal Code.
Police had signaled the “Mercedes Sprinter” transport vehicle, driven by S.S., to stop, but he did not comply with the order and continued toward the village of Otël. After police officers intervened, the vehicle was stopped.
The search turned up 320 textile items, 28 pairs of shoes, 350 technical goods, 78 medicines, 76 cosmetic products, six vehicle parts and 377 other items. No proper documentation was presented for these products.
The case has been reported to the public prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kumanovo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that after full documentation is completed, an appropriate criminal charge will be filed against S.S. /Telegrafi/
