20-year-old from Studeničan arrested, was wanted to serve a prison sentence

A 20-year-old man from the village of Studeničan, in the Skopje area, was detained by police on 24.08.2026 at 17:25 in the village of Moranë. According to a statement from North Macedonia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, the arrest was carried out on the basis of a court warrant by officers from the Intervention Police Unit of the Skopje Police Department. The detained person was identified by the initials B.A.

Before being detained, B.A. was driving a “Volkswagen Golf” with Skopje license plates and failed to obey police officers’ signal to stop. A short distance later, the vehicle collided with a concrete wall, while, as it was moving in the opposite direction, it also struck a “Škoda Yeti” owned by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Following his arrest, further checks revealed that the 20-year-old was wanted to serve a two-year prison sentence imposed for criminal offenses provided for under Articles 292 and 288 of the Criminal Code. The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that he would be taken to the competent penal-correctional institution to serve his sentence.
