Today, a group of pensioners gathered to protest against the territorial reform, which provides for the merger of the municipalities of Mat and Klos into a single administrative unit.

The protesters gathered near Lusa Bridge, along the line that currently divides the territories of the two municipalities. As a symbolic gesture, they temporarily stopped vehicle traffic and called for the majority’s proposal not to be approved by parliament.
The pensioners said that Mat would be better served by maintaining the two local self-government units.
They also expressed their gratitude to News 24, which, they said, supports them every day by broadcasting live the protest that has been taking place in Tirana for four months.
The gathering ended without incident, and the participants left peacefully. The protest was monitored by the State Police.
