Socialist Party’s Territorial Reform Opposed in Klos, Administration Halts Work and Protests Municipality’s Dissolution

The majority’s plan for administrative-territorial reorganization has sparked opposition and protests in several municipalities across the country. In Klos, local government employees have boycotted work and staged a protest against plans to dissolve the municipality.

According to News24 journalist Enver Doçi, the Klos municipal administration does not accept the local authority’s inclusion in the territorial reorganization process and is calling for the decision to be reconsidered.

Protesters have warned that their action will continue until the responsible institutions reach a different decision.

Similar opposition has also been announced in Belsh and Prrenjas. Under the proposal put forward by the majority, these two municipalities are also expected to be included in the dissolution process.

A protest was also held in Poliçan a day earlier. Several citizens affiliated with the Socialist Party burned their membership cards, while the party’s local leader announced his resignation in front of the protesters.
