Dimal Residents Protest Against Rama and Municipal Merger, Sign Petition to Overturn Territorial Reform

Opposition to the new territorial reform, previously expressed through protests in Klos, has now spread to Dimal. Residents of the area have spoken out against the plan to remove their municipality from the country’s administrative map.

According to residents, the proposed changes and the dissolution of Dimal Municipality risk undermining the provision of local services and weakening citizens’ ties with local institutions.

Alongside the protest, residents signed a petition against the territorial reform. Through this initiative, they are demanding that Dimal Municipality be preserved and continue operating as a separate local government unit.

The ruling majority’s territorial reform proposal has sparked political clashes and reactions in several areas of the country. Residents and local representatives have opposed reducing the number of municipalities, calling for the current administrative structure to remain unchanged.
