Jagxhiu conducts official visit to Croatia, digital transformation in focus

Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration Lulëzon Jagxhiu has begun an official visit to the Republic of Croatia. During his stay, he met with representatives of Croatian institutions to discuss digital transformation and the modernization of public administration.

Jagxhiu, accompanied by Kosovo’s ambassador to Croatia, Martin Berishaj, was received at Croatia’s Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, as well as at APIS IT. The latter is a state-owned company and ranks among the leading providers of digital infrastructure and shared services for Croatia’s public sector.

The discussions included the interconnection and interoperability of state registers, the central services portal and the implementation of the “once-only” principle. The parties also addressed services built around life events, electronic identity, the digital wallet and digital infrastructure, including data centers and the government cloud.

A special part of the talks was devoted to integrating artificial intelligence into public administration. The implementation of European Union legislation covering artificial intelligence, electronic identity and digital services was also reviewed.

The meeting with APIS IT addressed how shared services and the government cloud are organized. This topic is directly linked to the initiative of the Ministry of Digitalization and Public Administration to transition to the government cloud and consolidate shared digital infrastructure.

During the meetings, the parties agreed to continue cooperation and the exchange of experience between the two countries. Particular emphasis will be placed on developing digital infrastructure, advancing interoperability and state registers, as well as digital identity.

At the conclusion, Minister Jagxhiu expressed his gratitude to the Croatian institutions for their hospitality and willingness to strengthen interinstitutional cooperation.
