Iseni announces: “Safe City” fines for vehicles with foreign license plates can be paid online

Foreign nationals traveling in North Macedonia with vehicles registered abroad can now verify traffic violations online and pay them electronically.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Astrit Iseni, said that the “Safe City” application has been put into operation and, in this initial phase, the service is intended for drivers of vehicles with foreign license plates.

The platform allows users to check violations recorded by the “Safe City” system, view the relevant payment orders, and make the payment online.

To use the service, the driver must photograph or scan their travel document, as well as enter the license plate of the vehicle they are driving in North Macedonia.

Iseni stressed that this option gives foreign drivers timely access to information about fines, avoiding unnecessary stops and waiting at border crossing points when paying them.

This step was taken as part of the digitalization of services operating in connection with the “Safe City” system.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that in the next phases the application is expected to be offered to other categories of users as well.
