Is the LDK in Crisis? Gecaj Clarifies More Than 150 Delegates’ Demand Regarding Abdixhiku

More than 150 delegates to the LDK Assembly have called for Lumir Abdixhiku’s resignation or dismissal, party official Bajram Gecaj said. According to him, the initiative is not directed personally against anyone.

Gecaj said the LDK must learn from finishing third in three elections and make changes that would return it to first place.

“The demand for Lumir Abdixhiku’s resignation or dismissal comes from more than 150 delegates to the LDK Assembly. This demand is not directed against anyone.

“We have simply finished third in three elections, and that is unacceptable for Ibrahim Rugova’s party. We must reflect and introduce changes that will take us to first place, where the party with the strongest legacy deserves to be,” he told “Bota Sot.”

Meanwhile, LDK MP Armend Zemaj called on the party leader to convene an Extraordinary Assembly and call internal elections. He said this step would pave the way for the LDK’s future victories.

“My most sincere appeal to the LDK leader is to sit down, convene the Extraordinary Assembly and call extraordinary elections. Let us pave the way for the LDK’s victories,” Zemaj said.
