Is Rama Blocking the ‘Balluku’ Case Until September? Braho Tells Opposition MP: Present Proof and File a Criminal Complaint! Everyone Is Equal Before the Law!

In the Committee for Citizens’ Initiatives, the head of the Special Prosecution, Klodian Braho, was confronted with the question of whether Prime Minister Edi Rama has blocked the transmission to Parliament of the request to lift the immunity of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, postponing the matter until September.

The question was posed by opposition MP Elda Hoti, who sought clarification on the reasons that have delayed the procedure in Parliament.

This issue concerns the request that the Special Prosecution will address to Parliament to obtain authorization to criminally prosecute Belinda Balluku, a topic that has sparked heated debates between the opposition and the governing majority.

Elda Hoti specifically asked whether Prime Minister Edi Rama has intervened to delay the enforcement of the law in Balluku’s case at least until after September, and how citizens can be assured that SPAK follows the same standard for all officials, without partisan differences, so that justice is not perceived as one-sided.

In his response, Braho stressed that he cannot comment on individual cases. He explained that every person facing justice has the opportunity to appeal SPAK’s decisions in the relevant courts, benefiting from the right of appeal at higher judicial levels. Regarding suspicions of pressure from Rama, he challenged: if you have facts about such interference, then you must present the evidence and file a criminal complaint with the competent authorities. He reiterated his conviction that all citizens receive equal treatment under the law.
