“I Have Reached My Limits”: After Record Success with “The Odyssey”, Christopher Nolan Warns of Long Wait for New Film

Christopher Nolan’s new film, “The Odyssey”, is achieving great success in cinemas worldwide, but fans of the British director will have to wait several years for his next project.

Nolan has revealed that he is not expected to bring a new film for at least three years. In an interview for NBC’s “Today” show, he said that his work pace requires a long preparation period, especially for large-scale projects.

The director, who in recent years has released films almost every three years such as “Interstellar”, “Dunkirk”, “Tenet” and “Oppenheimer”, admitted that making “The Odyssey” has been one of the biggest challenges of his career.

“I have reached the limits of my endurance, and I think so has everyone else,” Nolan said, emphasizing that such a project had to be extremely challenging.

“The Odyssey”, an adaptation of Homer’s work, was shot entirely with IMAX 70mm technology, a choice that according to Nolan was the way to realize an old cinematic dream.

The film, with a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron, is expected to gross over $257 million worldwide.
