Haziri on debates within the LDK: The normalisation of the Republic goes through the party’s offices

Lutfi Haziri, vice-president of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), commented on the recent criticism and developments within the party, saying that the challenges will be overcome through internal debate and democratic functioning.

In a social media post, Haziri said he understands the activists and members seeking to restore the LDK as the leading political force. However, he criticised those who, according to him, initially praised the party and then began to “write its obituaries”.

According to Haziri, the LDK belongs to its membership, not its officials. He said the political party has the opportunity to respond to the challenges facing the Republic through political agreements, internal discussion and the preservation of democracy within the party.

“Without the LDK, there is neither a solution nor elections. The stability and normalisation of the Republic go through the LDK’s offices,” Haziri wrote, adding that the party’s major comeback will be achieved through a broad political agreement, without undermining internal democracy.
