Gruda: PDK will vote for every proposal, while Vetëvendosje is obstructing the constitution of the Assembly

Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Përparim Gruda has blamed the Vetëvendosje Movement for the continuation of the parliamentary deadlock, following yet another interruption of the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo.

According to Gruda, the PDK is ready to support any candidate proposed for the post of deputy speaker of the Assembly, regardless of the political entity from which the candidacy comes.

“Our position is clear: we will vote for every deputy speaker and every proposal put to a vote in the Assembly,” he said.

He explained that the PDK’s support would continue if Vetëvendosje undertakes to constitute the Assembly after this process is completed.

“We would vote for all the proposals if Vetëvendosje guarantees that the Assembly will be constituted today. Otherwise, we could remain without an Assembly until September 16,” Gruda said.

Regarding the candidacy put forward by the Serb List, the PDK MP said that it does not create a procedural obstacle in the voting process.

“The Serb List’s proposal is not a problem. The PDK will vote on every procedure and every proposal that is presented,” he stressed.

Gruda described the situation as another attempt to delay the constitution of the Assembly, claiming that the parliamentary majority is not showing a willingness to complete this process.

“This is another blockade and another game. They do not want the Assembly to be constituted,” the PDK MP said.
