GJKKO in deliberations over the security measure for Ergys Agasi, prosecution bases charges on videos from businessman’s office

After a lengthy hearing marked by heated clashes between the parties, the GJKKO judicial panel withdrew to deliberate on the security measure against Ergys Agasi. The prosecution requested that the businessman remain under “detention in prison,” claiming that the case file contains strong evidence for the charges of money laundering and influence over tenders.

An important part of the material presented by the prosecution consists of several videos recorded in Agasi’s office. According to the prosecution, the footage was filmed by Ergys Agasi himself and shows meetings with various individuals, which have been included in the investigative file.

Maks Haxhia, Ergys Agasi’s lawyer, rejected these claims. According to the defense, there is no concrete evidence linking his client to the criminal offenses for which he is being investigated and charged.

During the hearing, the defense also requested access to the investigative file, a request that led to the proceedings being suspended.

Following the conclusion of the arguments, the court has not yet announced its decision but has withdrawn to the deliberation room. The decision on the security measure against Ergys Agasi is expected to be issued shortly. He was arrested two days ago in the Plepa area after being declared wanted in connection with the AKSHI case file.
