Gjini: We firmly uphold the just cause of the KLA’s war, the Alliance will be a serious opposition

Support for the law challenging the decision of the Specialist Chambers, parliamentary engagement and the Alliance’s political direction were the topics its leader, Ardian Gjini, addressed during an appearance on the programme “Five”.

According to Gjini, the Alliance supported the law and had a clear position on the ruling from The Hague from the outset. He said its passage by a vote sent a positive signal, expressing Kosovo’s disagreement with the decision of the Specialist Chambers.

Gjini said that, despite potential legal challenges, the Alliance insists that Kosovo should engage in every area where it can. He also stressed that the party remains unwavering in its position that the KLA’s war was just.

Regarding the next political phase, the Alliance leader said preparations were underway and that the party would act as a serious opposition in the Assembly.

Outlining the party’s priorities and political direction, he recalled that the Alliance’s policies are included in its six-point platform. Gjini announced that the strategy for the next phase would be made public soon and that its implementation would be pursued consistently.

In discussing the government’s relationship with the media, Gjini argued that a government delivering results has no reason to view media criticism as a threat. He said its response should be based on arguments.

He added that a government that is successful in its work remains at ease even when facing attacks from the media, because it can respond with arguments. When the opposite is true, according to Gjini, it tries to silence the media.

Regarding the political period the country is going through, the Alliance leader expressed confidence that Kosovo would overcome it.
