The well-known businessman Gjergj Luca has denounced Raiffeisen Bank, because according to him they are keeping the money transferred from Japan.
Through a video posted by the businessman on his Facebook page, he states that a large amount of money came to him from Japan after selling goods, but that Raiffeisen Bank refuses to transfer this money to his bank and gives him a low exchange rate for the Yen currency, with a big difference from the international market.
He calls on the Bank of Albania to protect the business.
Full statement:
Hello dear friends! As you can see here on my back is one of the largest Albanian banks, with branches and subsidiaries throughout Albania and the reason why I am coming before you, is to give my story about the experience I have with this bank. About 10-12 years ago or something more, I was a client of that bank and I financed two fishing boats. After those two boats came to me, I faced problems with the state administration that were insurmountable for me. I went to the bank amidst great difficulties and asked for a meeting with the general director of that bank, who as far as I remember at the time was a Greek with a very honorable wife who was a director at VIPs, at big businesses. With great sincerity and with great spirit, I told him, please, I am in difficulty not because of my fault, not because of my ideas, not because of my work, but I am in difficulty from the state administration and I asked him for help to face the state administration.
This man told me I have no reason. I told him the reason is that I came to you and asked to do a business together and you to finance it and I revealed my dream to you, which I translated into a project, which your bank’s experts have approved. And this project is not progressing not because of my fault, not because of my will, not because of my work, but this project is not progressing because the state administration has made a barricade in front of its corruption and will not allow people who are correct with taxes and everything to work, but will privilege corruption, dishonesty to fill their pockets. I asked at that time to go to the prime minister at that time, together with the director of Raiffeisen and ask for help to unblock this part so that we could continue this joint project. No one bothered to confront the state administration from this bank, but they blacklisted me and for three years no bank has opened its door to me and overnight the name of this bank came up. This is the second time that I am facing a transfer that is coming to me from Japan, where all the hard work of my work, of the company, of thousands of people, has come to me in payment for the goods that I have sold there.
This delayed payment due to my inexperience this time created problems in my system and to me an hour seems like a week or a month and these lek have come since Monday, they were declared to me on Tuesday, I went to this bank and I asked them to return them to me in euros and they gave me a rate that was written there at 400 thousand euros. Then they were polite with me and gave me another rate that was 180 thousand euros difference with the international rate. Then I asked for these yen to go to my Intesa bank, to that bank that has become the partner of my dreams and these people then gave me the last exchange rate which was a difference of 18 thousand euros or 20 thousand euros, I asked and said no, I want the yen to be transferred to the treasury. From Tuesday, Wednesday until today which is Friday, I am waiting for my lek. I am waiting for my lek to pay the loan to the other bank, I am waiting for my lek to pay the workers, I am waiting for my lek to pay the electricity, to pay the gas, to pay a thousand things that have arisen in these problems and this bank is mocking me. It is mocking me by keeping my lek for one more day to use it, and one more day, and one more day. This is shameful, and I want to call on the Albanian bank to take measures and protect us who work, who supply the state budget, to protect us so that this country can move forward through us. I address all businesses, open your eyes when you make contracts with banks because those contracts you make are your dreams that these gentlemen who sit there with those salaries that you have seen, approve and when you are in difficulty they are not your partners, but they have an easy time coming to put you out of business, to put you out of your homes./albeu.com/
