First details emerge from tragedy in Kërvasar, Malisheva: Husband suspected in wife’s death

The Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova has released the first information about the serious incident that occurred in the village of Kërvasari, Malisheva, where a woman died from gunshot wounds. Her husband is suspected in the case; he was also seriously injured and is in critical condition.

According to the Prosecution’s statement, the woman, the suspect’s wife, died at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) as a result of gunshot wounds. The incident occurred in Kërvasar, in the Municipality of Malisheva, “Bota sot” reports.

The suspect, a male, also sustained serious gunshot wounds. He was taken for medical treatment and, according to the QKUK statement, his condition is serious and critical.

The State Prosecutor went to the scene, while on his orders the victim’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina for an autopsy.

The case was initiated by the State Prosecutor for the criminal offenses of “Aggravated Murder” and “Unauthorized possession, control or ownership of weapons.”

The Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova announced on August 24, 2026, that, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, all necessary actions were being taken to fully clarify the circumstances and secure relevant evidence.
