Serious crime in Kosovo: This is the 25-year-old shot dead, suspected to have been shot by her husband; she was 34 weeks pregnant

Shocking details have emerged from the serious incident that occurred in Malisheva, Kosovo, where a woman who was 34 weeks pregnant was shot dead. The incident happened last night in the village of Kërvasari.

The macabre crime is blamed on her husband, who was found injured in their bedroom and is in critical condition in hospital.

According to information, the man took the life of his wife, 25-year-old Jetlira Foniqi. Kosovo Police have also issued a statement on the case.

Police spokesperson for the Gjakova region, Vlera Krasniqi, stated that police units immediately went to the scene, where they found two injured persons, a man and his wife, in a bedroom.

Also, according to a notice from the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK), around 00:15 on 24 August 2026, two persons from the Malisheva region were admitted to the Emergency Center.

“One of the admitted persons, a 25-year-old female, arrived at the Emergency Center without signs of life, with gunshot wounds. The other person, a 26-year-old male, was admitted with gunshot wounds and is currently receiving medical treatment at the Emergency Center. His health condition is reported to be very serious,” the notice said.

Investigations to fully clarify the circumstances and motive of this event are ongoing.
