Father who attempted to take his son’s life in Stanoc, Vushtrri, sentenced to 13 years in prison

Defendant D.B. was sentenced to 13 years in prison after the Basic Court in Mitrovica, specifically the Department for Serious Crimes, found him guilty of attempted aggravated murder and unauthorized possession of weapons.

The verdict was made public on July 23, 2026, by the presiding judge of the trial panel, Xhemajl Jusufi.

The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica had accused D.B. of attempting to eliminate his son in the village of Stanoc, in the Municipality of Vushtrri.

Police data shows that the incident occurred on July 28, 2025. The suspect remained at large for several months until he was arrested on November 14 of the same year, following a law enforcement operation.

In a public statement, the prosecution had announced that “following operational work, a person with the initials D.B., who had been wanted for months on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of ‘Attempted aggravated murder’ and ‘Unauthorized ownership, control, or possession of weapons’, was arrested.”
