European Democrats: With Dua Lipa’s voice, the “Flamingo Revolution” has taken on global proportions; Rama can no longer turn his back on citizens

Following international star Dua Lipa’s public statement regarding what has been described as the “Flamingo Revolution” in our country, the European Democrats political group has issued an official position. According to them, the artist has succeeded in giving the debate over preserving Albania’s ecosystems global resonance.

In a statement on social media platforms, the European Democrats stressed that when Dua Lipa speaks out about the “Flamingo Revolution,” she brings a fundamental dilemma for every democratic society to the world’s attention: “Who are the real beneficiaries?”

According to this political force, the singer’s message “goes beyond the veneer surrounding a luxury investment backed by powerful lobbies.” They emphasize that the fate of nature should not be determined by legislative changes adopted covertly and without public involvement.

“Let us make these messages go viral: Edi Rama can no longer be allowed to evade the will of Albanians,” the European Democrats’ response reads. This position came immediately after Dua Lipa publicly expressed her solidarity with the environmental protection movement in Albania, bringing major development projects in protected areas and their impact on biodiversity back to the center of discussion.
