Elon Musk Unveils “Terafab,” a Chip Factory Expected to Be 50 Times Larger Than the Pentagon

“Terafab” is a new project announced by Elon Musk to build a Tesla and SpaceX chip factory in Texas.

According to ilmessaggero.it, the facility will produce semiconductors intended for artificial intelligence and robotics.

In a post on X, Musk praised the proposed design of the complex and said that “Terafab Texas” would, by a considerable margin, be the most valuable building in the world.

Tesla and SpaceX are planning an initial investment of $16.8 billion to begin construction. Documents filed with regulatory authorities and released this week indicate that the total cost could reach as much as $119 billion over several phases.

The goal is for “Terafab Texas” to rank as the world’s most valuable building.

Analysts estimate that the factory could generate more than one trillion units of AI computing capacity each year.

Production at the complex will be based on 2-nanometer chip technology, considered among the most advanced technologies available today.

The planned scale of “Terafab” immediately prompted comparisons on social media with some of the largest structures on the planet.

In comparison images, the factory was shown alongside Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, government buildings, corporate campuses and shopping malls designed to welcome millions of visitors each year.
