The Independent Union of Art, Culture and Media of Albania has announced that it will join the national protest on 24 October in solidarity with students, young people and citizens.

In a public appeal, the union invited its members, artists, and culture and media workers to gather tomorrow at 11:00 in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The announcement stresses that taking part in the protest is tied to civic responsibility for the country’s future, as well as to the protection of workers’ rights.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has called on its activists and party forums to come out in support of the student protest at 12:00.

Student groups are expected to gather at 14:00 for the rally in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Mobilization for the national protest is also taking place outside Tirana. Students from other parts of the country, who have protested in recent days in the cities where their universities are located, are expected to travel to the capital tomorrow to join the rally.

Student groups in Tirana are in contact with students in other cities to coordinate participation in the protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
