Confrontation with Berisha at National Council, DP member: Muli’s backing for posts is intolerable

Ilirjana Kuçana, a member of the Democratic Party, was involved in a sharp conflict with Sali Berisha during the National Council meeting.

Immediately after leaving the headquarters, she stopped in front of journalists to express concern that an alarming situation has been created in the DP. According to her, to secure a position within the party, the support of Flamur Noka, known as Muli, is now indispensable.

“To get a position in the DP, you definitely need Muli’s backing. This is completely unacceptable. The phenomenon I call ‘Mulism’ must be fought at all costs. I call on all democrats to rise up against this phenomenon. The people who will be voted should be independent of cliques. We have examples of secretaries who have left and joined Edi Rama’s camp. I inform you that in the coming days there will be new data,” she stated.

Kuçana further emphasized that if her voice is not heard in the party forums, she will make her stance public before the democratic electorate. “When the DP is not willing to listen to the members of the National Council, then we face a very serious problem. The party must get as close as possible to the protest,” she added.

She also demanded the approval of a resolution by the National Council in support of the protest. “Let me remind you that the DP and the National Council should have issued a supporting resolution. We are a political force that operates through resolutions and official documents. I demanded a serious resolution to back the protest,” Kuçana concluded.
